Please read our security guidelines for Brixton and High Down which includes information on photo identification, bookings and prohibited items.

Please ensure you have read and understood the security procedures outlined  in the above links as non-compliance is a criminal offence.

Please ensure you have your photo ID with you for visits to our restaurants at HMP Brixton and HMP High Down. The only photo ID we accept is a driving licence, passport or Freedom Pass.

• On arrival at our restaurants, please follow signs to The Clink Restaurants. At High Down and Brixton, follow signs to the check-in centre.
• There will be an opportunity for you and your guests to lock personal items away in the lockers, including mobile phones and any other banned items, as outlined above.
• Your photo ID will be checked and taken from you in return for a prison pass.
• You will be escorted to the main gate by a member of The Clink Restaurant reception team. The route from the reception area to the restaurant is outside so please bring appropriate clothing and umbrellas if required.

Your meal will be cooked and served by prisoners training towards gaining their accredited qualifications. Please feel free to ask them questions about their training and hopes for the future. By dining with us, you are giving them a valuable learning experience.

You are welcome to share your thoughts, comments and feedback following your meal on any one of our five Facebook pages. You can also take photographs of your meals if you so wish at our restaurants at HMP Cardiff,  HMP Styal and our cafe in Manchester. However, we respectfully ask all diners not to take photographs of the prisoners due to security and confidentiality restrictions. You are welcome to submit a review on TripAdvisor – please bear in mind that The Clink Restaurants and Cafe are training environments.

You can pay using a debit or credit card at Brixton, Cardiff, High Down or Styal. If you wish to pay by card at High Down, payment will be taken at the check-in centre following your meal and not in the restaurant. You can also pay by gift vouchers. Please note that our Manchester cafe is cashless.

Please note that our restaurants and cafe do not serve alcohol as they are training environments.

Whilst you may be familiar with recognising good service by leaving a tip, the unique position of our restaurants means this is not possible when dining at The Clink. Instead, we would ask you to consider contributing a similar sum to support us in our charitable work in changing attitudes, transforming lives and creating second chances by leaving a donation in the envelope provided.
